3. In the run tab, type "regedit" (without quotes)
4. Click the plus next to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”
5. Click the plus next to “SOFTWARE”
6. Click the plus next to “Microsoft”
7.Click the plus next to “Windows NT”
8.Click the plus next to “CurrentVersion”
9. Click “WPAEvents”
10. On the right panel, find “OOBETimer” then double click it and delete all the Values by highlighting it.
Download the values  and paste them  (without quotes)

11. Then after that click OK,After that on the left panel right click WPAEvents, then click on permissions

  13. Haha, this left my system in an interesting state.
    [When trying to login]
General dialog window: "To be able to login, you must first activate your system. Do you want to activate Windows now?"
[I click Yes, see the desktop background (no start menu), and the WPA window pops up]
WPA window: "Windows is already activated. Click OK to exit."
[I click OK, and get thrown out to the login screen again]

Good thing I only run windows through VirtualBox, I guess.

  15. If your trial time expired, reboot the machine, keep pressing F8 until a new menu appears. Choose Safe mode with command prompt.
    After Windows load,
    type exactly (with no "") "rundll32.exe syssetup,SetupOobeBnk".
You now have 30 days trial (only possible to do this trick 4 times).

  16. This worked for me but after 30 days I got the logon problem - it said it needed to activate then it said it was activated and just went back to logon. Running the "rundll32.exe syssetup,SetupOobeBnk" let me in but presumably this will only work a few times. I think there's some other part of the registry which needs to be modified as well.

  17. I have a very serious computer problem. If started when I bought a printer. My pirated Windows Xp was still on sp 2, and the printer driver needed Sp 3. So I unfortunately updated to sp 3 and suddenly Windows wanted my Activation Key within 30 days!

I was still able to use it so I looked for how to circumvent the activation. One site said hack the registry and replace some numbers. So I did that.

The Windows registration popup went away so I thought all was well for a while. This morning I restarted the laptop and tried to login and the Windows Registration came up. I clicked No and it kicked me back to login. I tried again, clicked yes at the Registration and it's supposed to take me to the registration dialog box.

But I think because I hacked the registry the Registration said Windows is registered. Then kicked me back to login.

My lecture notes (I'm a lecturer) are in there and all the important stuff! What do I do?

Please help us Obi Wan. You're my only hope.

  19. Hello i don't know if this thread is still open but i urgently need help with getting around windows activation. So heres the story i recently bought a new hard drive from PC World ( my local computer store) for $90 and bought a windows 7 copy of a re installation disk for $10 and replaced it into my computer( Hp Pro book 4520 series) but after i reinstalled windows on to my laptop it told me i now had to activate windows with a 25 character activation key Within a 30 day period. i left it alone for a few a few days as i tried to locate my key, i couldn't find my key, and at the time my next semester for classes was starting(i am a student at CNM) So i had to leave this alone for a few weeks, but now i have an online class that requires me to log into my schools academic Distance Learning program everyday, and am now faced with the same problem of activating my key( which i still do not have) i searched the internet on how to locate my key i found this program called WinKeyfinder and used it showed my activation key but when i entered it and pressed okay it said " This Key is default, and my not be used to activate windows) so i called the computer store where i bought the copy of the re install disk from and they said that they couldnt help me with the activation key and i would most likely have to bu a new one from Microsoft Corporation. I am a full time student and currently am not employed so i do not have any money coming in. I guess my question is: is there a way to get around having to buy a Win 7 product key? The notification on my computer says i have 5 days left and im am simply at a loss of what to do as i can not afford an activation key. I desperately need some help on this issue. if anyone can help me with this my email is joerayarchuleta3@yahoo.com please pm me. This is my last hope.
